sustainable water for future generations.
NEWS:
Organizers have been planning the Water Festival for months. In response to the recent oil spill near Marshall, Michigan, organizers will highlight ways you can help victims of the disaster. Due to uncertainty surrounding the spill, morning activities we had been planning at Verburg Park on the downtown Kalamazoo waterfront between 9am and noon were canceled including a Kanoe the Kazoo paddle trip.***

MORE DETAILS
Water Festival organizers, sponsors, participants, and artists are committed to cleaning up old pollution and preventing new pollution. Like you, we know that water is the
beating heart of the Great Lakes state, and that an active, connected citizenry can
protect its water. Proceeds from the Water Festival will be set aside for the next festival
and Kalamazoo River Watershed Council programs.
Jeff Spoelstra, Kalamazoo River Watershed Council coordinator says: The Council
sees connections everywhere we look in the Kalamazoo River Watershed between
sustainable agricultural, healthy local food programs, protected wild places, sustainable
cities, contamination cleanup, connected land and water trails, and critically important groundwater (it's what you drink, and its under your feet). Join us as we celebrate water connections up and downstream of where you live, work, and play!
Walk or bike to the Festival on the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. Bring a reusable
water container. Food and beverages will be available for purchase all afternoon.
